Selling Your Home
Spring is when many people think about purchasing a home. This is one of the best times to put your home on the market. There are many things a seller can do to ensure that their sale goes smoothly, for the best possible price.
1. Get your home ready
Get rid of the clutter. Clean up and tidy up; wash off those sticky fingerprints, wash the windows, get rid of those boxes sitting the corner. Often, painting will make a big difference to how a room looks. Ask your real estate agent to give you pointers as to where you can put your effort for the best return.
2. Find a Realtor
Choose a realtor carefully. Get referrals from your friends; interview several realtors. Ask the realtor how they plan to market your home. You want your realtor to get you the best price possible – but starting at an unrealistically high price may not get you that best price.
3. Talk to your bank
Will there be a payout penalty on your mortgage? What is the mortgage payout amount? Will there be a discharge fee?
4. Choose a lawyer
