Dependent Child Sponsorship

Dependent Child Sponsorship

Sponsoring a dependent child or a child that you plan to adopt for permanent residency in Canada.

You can sponsor if you are at a Canadian permanent resident 18 years or older living in Canada or are a Canadian citizen that is not bankrupt, in prison or under a removal order or charged with a criminal offence.
To be considered a sponsored child, the dependent child must be 21 years old or younger and not married or living common law. The exception to this is if the dependent child suffers from a physical or mental disability and had been financially dependent on the support of the parents up to the age of 21.
