Visit Canada

Visitor’s Visa
While the Visitor's Visa is still valid, you can generally leave and enter Canada any number of times, but you may not stay longer than six months each visit. These visas can be made for six months, one year, two years, five years or ten years and you may apply for any of these periods. The immigration officer has the power to make your visa valid for a shorter amount of time than what you have applied for. For example, if you do not often travel or have never visited Canada before. To meet the conditions for a visitor visa, you must be able to show that:
• You plan to visit Canada for no more than six months• You intend and have proof to leave Canada at the end of your visit• You have the required funds to support yourself and live in Canada without working or requiring any public assistance.
Previous immigration and travel history and patterns of family migration, both here and abroad, are also taken into consideration.
